I stumbled across this new linky on twitter; it's all about sharing outfits your little ones have rocked recently and is hosted by MotherGeek & ClearlyBex.
My two have been feeling the heat with the warmer weather and have been found mainly in t-shirts, shorts, skirts and dresses for the last few weeks. My little miss loves her bright, colourful tops and opted for this pretty floral yellow blouse this morning. My little man, who has been fascinated with all the World Cup goings-on picked out his 'Future England Captain' shirt, a great recent find from Primark!
Terror 1 : Top from Ladybird, Skirt from Cherokee at Tesco and a great charity shop find!
Terror 2 : Top and Trousers from Primark.

I'm Late, I'm Late...
"I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date.
No time to say 'Hello, Goodbye.' I'm late, I'm late, I'm late."
Sound familiar? Pretty much sums up the early morning rush in our household on the day's the kids attend Pre-School. Each day, despite multiple alarms, we get out of bed a few minutes too late, I rush around getting the kid's bags and myself ready while they eat breakfast and get changed. We leave the house, miraculously, on time most morning's but either my two adventurous little imps want to explore everything they see on the way to Pre-School (not necessarily a bad thing, but it does make us a bit late) or we have to go back because in the rush I forgot to pick up or pack up something or other.
It doesn't stop once we get to the Pre-School either. I spend the morning rushing about trying to get everything done within the few hours I have to myself while they are having fun with their friends. I imagine I look a little like the White Rabbit, from Alice in Wonderland, rushing around, constantly checking the time on those days. Except I don't have a watch to check, which may explain why I can never seem to get anywhere bang on time! I've been thinking about it and I've narrowed it down; it's either my lack of a watch or that my two terrors actually consume time itself that means I'm usually running a few minutes late. And while I wouldn't put the latter past them the former means I get to drool over gorgeous watches and possibly purchase one for myself so I'm going to settle on that one *winks*
Over at The Watch Hut, the UK's largest watch website with stores in London, Birmingham and Manchester, they have some stunning ladies watches, along with jewellery and watches for men and children also. I felt a little like a kid in a candy shop whilst scrolling through the beautiful and extensive selection of watches they have. I quickly found my favourite though...
Isn't it gorgeous?! I'm a little bit in love! It's a beautiful Vivienne Westwood ladies Rococo wristwatch with a cute pink leather strap and a watch face that reminds me of a piece of jewellery. It's water resistant up to 30 metres so I could wear it without fear of it stopping working when the children inevitably splash me or we get rained on. It's such a dainty watch (perfect for my skinny wrists) and looks almost like a bracelet at first glance. It's available with a black wristband and a stunning royal blue, but I think I prefer the delicate pink. If only I had a spare £185 lying around...

Make Your Own : Hair Bows
Recently, Terror 1 has started to enjoy picking out pretty clips and ties to wear in her hair. I've been having a look around town and online to stock up on a few more bits and pieces for her but I couldn't really find what I was looking for...and when I did I found they were pretty expensive for a hair-band and a bit of ribbon! That's when I decided to create my own! Not only is it much cheaper, as it's made from bits and pieces that I had lying around the house, but it's much easier than I'd expected and each hair bow can be personalised. And the best bit? It will only take you 15-30 minutes to create!
To make your own you will need;
- A hair-tie (a chunky one works the best)
- Some assorted ribbons of your, or your little ones, choosing
- Matching thread
- A needle and some scissors
Cut one of your ribbons into two pieces of equal length. Secure both pieces to the hair-tie with a knot at the middle of each length of ribbon as shown above.
Taking your other piece of ribbon, form the bow which will act as the main feature on your hair bow. I find the above method gives me a perfect bow each time but the 'conventional' method would also work...whichever you find the easiest.
- Taking your length of ribbon create two loops with your fingers.
- Cross the loops over each other, creating an X.
- Taking the top loop, wrap it round and through the hole as if tying a knot.
- Pull the two loops tight until a bow is formed then adjust as necessary.

Position your bow onto the front of your hair-tie then secure everything with a needle and matching thread. Turn your hair bow back over then trim all of the ribbon ends.
Ta-dah, your DIY hair bow is complete and is ready to wear!
